So you get engaged - you tell your family, your friends, and broadcast excitement on social media. You have to start planning for a wedding. Picking out vendors can be stressful, but picking the right photographers for both your engagement and wedding doesn't have to be a negative experience! We encourage you to dream big for your engagement photographs, and find a photographer that can make those dreams come true! I love weddings, and absolutely understand how important they are, but your engagement photographs are a chance to let your creative juices flow, without the extra pressures that come with your wedding day. Why make your engagement session incredible? Weddings are busy and go by in a flash. You'll get incredible pictures of you with your family and friends, but don't get as much time for you and your partner. When you make an engagement photo session, you have each other alone. You can make it what you want! You can go from a day at the beach, to a weekend getaway in the summertime. Or from a warm cabin in the woods on a cold winter day or an abandoned building in downtown Pontiac while a snowstorm rages outside. Chelsea and Matt let me take creative control and turn their engagement session into an opulent Great Gatsby inspired session. Although we almost cancelled due to crazy winter weather, we braved the drive and were so glad we did. We worked in my studio in Downtown Pontiac - a building with fourteen floors - and went to the abandoned fourth floor. We took a number of shots and had ourselves a bit of a rush - it looked as if someone may have been living there - but it was an incredible shot and resulted in amazing things. It was so worthwhile, but we retreated to our studio to finish. Their photographs turned out incredibly well, and I'm sure Chelsea and Matt will cherish these photos and the adventure for years to come!
